My Story

Welcome to Life Amplified! We are so honored that you took time out of your busy schedule to join us.

My name is Jamie. I am a daughter of the Most High, wife to Steve (THE absolute best guy), and mom to two AMAZING kids: Josiah and Sierra. It doesn’t seem possible that my kids are actually grown adults and we are soon to be empty nesters. However, I gotta tell you that I am absolutely digging this stage of life. They actually appreciate their parents and think mom is right about most things! And I know it sounds crazy, but it seems that the older my kids get, the younger I look and feel! (Of course, that could be dementia kicking in early, lol.)

I was raised the daughter of a professional con man and had a childhood so outrageous that it could be made into a major motion picture. When I was 16, I discovered not only that there was a God, but that He loved me unconditionally and had a plan for my life that didn’t involve crime, emotional abuse, or living life on the run. Never in my life would I have imagined that that plan was for me to marry a pastor just three short years later.

God didn’t just transform my heart/mind/soul, but He transformed my physical body, as well. Food was the comfort idol I had turned to as a small child and I battled food addiction and morbid obesity for most of my life. It’s been a hard and long journey, but I am literally less than half the woman I used to be, and I have kept it off for many years.

You will find that I am passionate about many things: Jesus, family, friends, laughter, writing, photography, Trim Healthy Mama, and listening to my body and not just my spirit. These are just a few of the things that bring me great joy. I can’t wait to share some of them with you!

Several years ago, some friends bought us a sign while they were on vacation. Their youngest spotted it in a souvenir shop and asked the fam, “Who does this remind you of?” Of course, they all exclaimed, “THE EGGERS!” We have this sign prominently displayed on our kitchen counter. It says, “We must be God’s favorite sitcom.” Isn’t that HILARIOUS!? Yet, it so perfectly sums up our family and seems to be the story of our lives.

I’m excited to share my heart and that life with you, so grab a cup of tea or coffee, curl up in your favorite chair, and enjoy the “show.” Who knows, maybe we will become your favorite sitcom, too!
